Leadership learned in community involvement enhances leadership applied in the workplace. Bridges are built among classmates which in turn strengthen business relationships. Employees develop leadership, group/team building skills and decision making ability. Employees who are more invested in the community and feel connected to Lancaster County will want to remain in Lancaster. Employees will be happier and more fulfilled in their personal lives and be more creative individuals.

Employees will be connected to the Leadership Lancaster network of 45 other classes with over 1,000 alumni. Sponsorship of an employee will enhance the company/organization's stature in the Lancaster community. Participation is an investment for one's organization/company, the employee and the community as a whole. Strong employers want to invest in their people and in their community.

HOW PARTICIPANTS ARE SELECTED:

Approximately 45 people are selected each year from all sectors of our community. Diversity of occupation, residence, age, and culture are all factors which are considered. We limit the size of the class and are not able to select all candidates. We encourage applicants to re-apply if they are not accepted the first time.

The criteria used for selection are:

• Residing or working in Lancaster County
• Potential for community leadership
• Accomplishments to date
• Willingness to contribute time and talent
• A strong commitment to Lancaster County
• Contribution to overall diversity and strength of the class
